We would have had the highest standards in the world and that wasn't enough to placate the government making the decision... that they've made.”
The Opposition Leader said it was a “dangerous period” for Australian industries as the government and the Greens were not going to stop at live sheep exports and would seek to continue their environmental crusade. “I think that's playing out to the disadvantage of many people in regional areas, but for our country more generally.”
“There are many kids who I've spoken to, you know, friends of my kids who have been out , and it's really changed their perspective and their whole outlook on life,” he said.
