Disaster management teams to support to communities affected by heavy rains.

Eastern Province Premier, Oscar Mabuyane, MEC for Human Settlements, Siphokazi Lusithi, and Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Deputy Executive Mayor, Babalwa Lobishe conducted an oversight visit to KwaZakhele on October 22, 2024.Eastern Cape government has activated its disaster management teams to provide support to communities affected by heavy rains in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.

“It’s very unfortunate for a family to lose a father, who has survived almost 76 years. For now, we can only convey our heartfelt condolences to the family, it’s a painful thing and very unfortunate. The story is sad that people could just watch and not do anything because the electricity was very much activated,” Mabuyane says.
