KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI began the trading day on a positive note but finished lower for the sixth consecutive session, bucking the regional uptrend.
All indices on Bursa Malaysia ended lower, except for the Bursa Malaysia Consumer Products & Services Index and the Plantation Index. Among the gainers, Nestle surged RM2.80 to RM103, United Plantations added 50 sen to RM27, Kuala Lumpur Kepong rose 44 sen to RM21.54 and HeiTech Padu gained 28 sen to RM3.57.
On the forex market, the ringgit was down 0.44% against the greenback to 4.3620 and down 0.3% against the Singapore dollar at 3.2982.
