The Economic Freedom Fighters has rejected the first Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement of the 7th administration, saying it advocated for programmes that entrenched racialised apartheid era economic policies.
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana delivered the MTBPS under the Government of National Unity earlier today. EFF leader Julius Malema, “We reject the budget and what South Africa should actually notice is that is a first neo-liberal budget of the coalition of the DA and the ANC which prioritizes the racialised apartheid style of economic growth and its intention is to continue privatisation of strategic sectors of our economy. How come you have Mid-Term Budget that has got no clear plan on how we’re going to reduce unemployment. Because the problem of unemployment in SA is very serious.
