They may entice you with mortgage aid, loan forgiveness, or money to help cover your living expenses.“They usually want it to be paid either with a debt card, or through a Cash App, or a Venmo type situation, sometimes with Cryptocurrency,” Bates stated. “That’s the key that it’s a scam, along with the fact that the government will never make you a special offer as a veteran by a phone call, an email, or a text message.
