Tucked away in the Peak District's serene valleys lies a stunning Christmas market, striking a stark contrast with the vibrant urban festivities seen in major cities across the UK in the build up to Christmas. This market, hosted at Haddon Hall, a fortified manor house dating back 900 years and situated just two miles from Bakewell, offers an enchanting alternative.
With claims of being "bigger, better and more captivating than ever", this year's event is set to occupy Haddon Hall's bewitchingly adorned courtyard, the sumptuous Tudor and Elizabeth chambers, and the breathtakingly elegant gardens. Immersed in a storybook setting, Haddon Hall's Christmas market dazzles with shimmering lights, opulent decorations, and stunning Christmas trees nurtured on the Haddon Estate.
Excitingly, these sessions won't cost a penny and guests are encouraged to pop in at any time during the day. An appetising new feature for 2024 is the introduction of a food and drink hall that promises to be a haven for food lovers, offering everything from scrumptious wine and gin to mouth-watering chutney and cheese, complemented by seating areas to unwind and indulge in the edible delights.
Admission fees are set at £11 for adults, which includes parking , and a modest £3.50 for youngsters between five to fifteen years of age. Infants aged four and under can enjoy the market at no cost.
