The SABC has reliably learnt that in Bojanala, the party’s biggest region in the province with a total of 153 branches, fewer than ten branches are in good standing. The terms of office of many Branch Executive Committees have expired, and interim structures are currently leading many branches.. The party’s Tumelo Maruping elaborates, “The guidelines that we have issued as the ANC Provincial Executive Committee was that branches that have lapsed since the last national conference must turn the BEC into the BTT and where the BEC does not exist, we then instructed them to establish a task team which will lead to a BBGM, a BBGM is where the BEC gets to be nominated.
