Abia State House of Assembly has passed the Abia State Ministry of Finance (Incorporated) Bill 2024, sponsored by Okoro Uchenna Kalu. The law aims to establish the Ministry of Finance (Incorporated) and promote private sector investment, wealth generation, and reduced federal reliance. It will take effect from November 26, 2024.

Abia State House of Assembly has passed H.A.B 27, the Abia State Ministry of Finance Bill 2024, which seeks to establish the Abia State Ministry of Finance and for other matters related thereto, into Law. The bill which was sponsored by Majority Leader, Okoro Uchenna Kalu, , received accelerated consideration after several debates.

Also during Plenary, the member representing Ohafia North State Constituency, Egwuronu Ochuru Obasi, in a Matter of Urgent Public Importance, called on the Abia State Government, through the Ministry of Health, to investigate the immediate and remote causes of adverse drug reaction suffered by his constituents in Abiriba on Saturday after consuming drugs distributed by a donor agency, Imo-Hope for the Hopeless.
