Tyrone Rowe's victim struggled to walk after the vicious assault

A Nottingham father-of-three left an elderly market stall holder with fractures to his face after attacking him over a phone charger cable. Nottingham Crown Court heard how Tyrone Rowe punched the victim, who was in his 70s, twice in the face causing him to stumble backwards and hit his head.

“He requires a lot of support from family members and he suffered weight loss. He says he’s unlikely to ever return to work on his market stall which has had an impact on his independence.” “ asked him for a £2 deposit but it became apparent that Mr Rowe had no money, called a ‘bloodclaat ’ told him he was taking the cable anyway and punched him to the right side of the face which caused him to stumble backwards.

Mr Fountain read out part of a victim impact statement made by the stall holder. In it he told how he struggled to speak and had pain in his jaw. He said he became reliant on his family to help him at meal times and “in the immediate aftermath struggled to walk without the aid of a Zimmer frame or family”.
