Michael Conlan has announced he is to step away from the promotional business he co-founded with his brother Jamie three years ago. The brothers have been running Conlan Boxing since 2021, helping promote and deliver some major boxing nights to Belfast and other venues across the UK and Ireland. But as he prepares for his eagerly anticipated ring return in 2025, and with a burgeoning beer business as part of his portfolio, Conlan has decided to step away from the promotional company.
He said on social media: 'Over the past few months I've immersed myself in training camp with my new team, reflecting on my career and future. After careful consideration, I've chosen to pursue a new direction and I will step away from the promotional business I co-founded with Jamie in 2021. 'I remain committed to managing the next generation of boxing talent under my own company and I am excited for what lies ahead.' Meanwhile, Conlan confirmed he will return to the ring next year. The 33-year-old hasn't fought since losing to Jordan Gill in December 2023. He added: 'Excited to announce I will be making my return to the ring next year, with more details to come in the weeks ahead.
