BUS CRASH,LEGAL ACTION,GLASGOW

Two separate bus crashes in Glasgow and Kilmarnock earlier this month have resulted in legal action against the responsible bus companies.

Victims of two separate bus crashes in Glasgow and Kilmarnock earlier this month are to sue the respective bus companies. Eight people were injured when a double-decker bus crashed into a railway bridge on Cook Street in Tradeston on December 14th. One person was left in a critical condition. A similar incident occurred on December 19th in Kilmarnock, where a Stagecoach bus lost its roof after hitting a railway bridge, injuring eight passengers, including a number of school children.

A 34-year-old man has since been charged in connection with a road traffic offence. Patrick McGuire, a partner with Thompsons Solicitors, representing some passengers in both incidents, stated that 'The Cook Street crash in particular is shocking. Our specialist team who have dealt with several crashes of this kind have already been contacted over both incidents and we have opened cases against the companies involved. For crashes of this kind to continue to happen is utterly unacceptable and the travelling public deserve so much better.”, Thompsons Solicitors has a history of representing victims in bus accidents, securing substantial damages in previous cases.
