This sale follows a pattern observed throughout 2024 where the foundation has consistently sold ETH before significant price drops. In total, they have sold 4,666 ETH at an average price of $2,823, generating $12.61 million. The foundation's previous sale in December involved 100 ETH for 402,473 DAI, marking the second consecutive sale after selling 200 ETH for 776,800 DAI cumulatively.
Today's sale coincided with a 9% drop in Ethereum's price over the past day, plummeting from $3,640 to a low of $3,308. ETH has since partially recovered, rising by 1.32% to $3,351
