As has become customary in this country when seeking a scapegoat, I blame Theresa May. Or rather, Brexit. For if Brexit is a headache, consider black trousers your Alka-Seltzer. Uncomplicated, hard-working, classic, they’ve come to seem like the perfect sartorial foil to the increasingly frenzied news cycle. While the cabinet line-up and date of departure from the EU, plus the eventual fate of Mrs May, are changing on an almost hourly basis, I’m seeking longevity and quality from my wardrobe.
“I’m definitely not making that ‘Oh, f**k it’ purchase I might have made once a month,” he says. “I was looking at a pair of shoes the other day online and discarded them because I didn’t think they would still be in my wardrobe in five years’ time. I suppose, without thinking about it, I’m just trying to spend better. And for some reason I really want a black coat.
Nothing should change after Brexit, except retailers and every other industry will put their prices up using brexit as an excuse, same as the day after we voted, prices went up and brexit was used as an excuse. And also how companies are using it as excuse to close shops etc
