IPOH: The Housing and Local Government Ministry has announced an allocation of RM1mil for the consultation fee of Pasir Pinji market in Ipoh.

Its Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said the consultation was part of the initial stage in the process of rebuilding the old market."The rebuilding will create a modern experience for visitors where stalls will be placed according to their category."However, I hope with the partnership between Perak government and Ipoh City Council, we can find a way to reduce the cost,” she told reporters after visiting the market on Wednesday .

“The market will be equipped with ‘green technology’ and rainwater collection system,” he said on June 24. Zuraida said due to the proposed basement parking, the cost of rebuilding the market would be slightly higher. “We will release the budget according to its progress. Since Ipoh has a new mayor, we hope Ipoh City Council and state government will contribute to make the upgrading a success,” she said.
