MANILA—Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said Friday Manileños could now secure their business permits in one day to promote ease of doing business in the nation's capital.

"Dati 11 steps, 11 windows, tama? Thirty days na, wala pa permit mo. Bayad ka na, wala pa permit mo," he said in a speech during the induction of officers of Rotary Club of Bagumbayan-Manila.Moreno signed Executive Order No. 8 on July 8 which will create a "Business One-Stop Shop" or BOSS to fast-track application of business permits.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announces launching on Monday of City Hall’s ease of doing business program. Says on application for business permits: from the current 11 steps and 11 windows, the process will be shortened to just 3 steps in 1 window, and permit to be released in 1 day.

The executive order is in line with Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018. Aside from the Bureau of Permits and the License Division, Moreno also included in the one-stop shop the following offices: City Treasury Cash Division, City Planing and Development office Zoning Division, City Engineering/Building Office including its Electrical Division, Manila Health Department, Electronic Data Processing and other regulatory Offices.
