CleanO2 uses chemistry to reduce emissions from furnaces and water heaters while also producing marketable chemical products

The energy industry gets a bad rap when it comes to innovation, yet the oilpatch is by far the largest spender on clean tech in Canada, to the tune of $1.4 billion a year. As part of its continuing coverage of the innovation economy, the Financial Post reports on the intersection of technology and energy, from the oilpatch in Alberta, off the shores of Nova Scotia to the plains of Saskatchewan.

By the end of the year, the devices will be installed in 32 different locations in Calgary, Vancouver and Minneapolis after successful pilot projects in the past few years with utility firms ATCO Ltd., FortisBC and UK-based retailer Lush Cosmetics. The Canadian federal government has ambitions of being part of the growth and has set an audacious target of 11.4 per cent growth in clean technology exports for the next six years, which would nearly triple previous growth rates of 4 per cent.

Perfect for our commercial customers who might be looking to find a new way to reduce emissions without losing the benefit of having natural gas for their business “The expectation was there would be a much greater number of sequestration projects in the world,” Isaacs said of the Alberta government’s initial plan for the CCS fund.

“I think there is momentum” in small-scale CCS projects, Isaacs said, though such installations would need to be widely adopted in order to effectively mitigate climate change.

Love it!! Now please follow up with stories on the student at U of Calgary who developed a technique to convert CO2 to carbon fibre, what farmers have been doing and everybody/anybody else who is taking the lead on innovation!

Imagine, now bear with me, if we didn't need all that extra soap? Because it seems like a huge industry is making something with their waste that is already in abundance. What if, instead, the waste wasn't made to start with? Too crazy? geniuses

Be a responsible journalist when reporting about CarbonCapture because the dumbest readers might think, putting a price on CO2eq is not necessary, with such innovation. Calculation is easy - take all of Canada's emissions, and divide them by how much 1 such machine can capture.

For sure PMJT and Climate Fanatic CMc won't say anything or give any funds for this

TrudeauMustGo ClimateHoax LiberalsMustGo

Honest question - Does using the soap re-release the carbon into the atmosphere?

BradWall306 This is Awesome tell me more!!

I wonder what could possibly create the incentive for a company to come up with this sort of technology…

FakeNews CarbonCapture scam, which Harper has already spent $ 1.7 B on. It is a subsidy to oil industry in reality. This is a niche use of CCS, it cant be used for the whole planet

So if i fart at the same time i use this soap, does that make me 'carbon neutral'
