Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Saturday warned fixers and city hall personnel with ties to unscrupulous groups that no stone will be left unturned in making them pay for their corrupt ways.

The stern warning was issued after Belmonte said her “good governance drive got a boost with the arrest of a fixer’’.

Belmonte, whose 14-point executive agenda is anchored on good governance, lauded the BPLD for the arrest, saying it will further boost the city government’s campaign to weed out fixers. The BPLD, headed by Ma. Margarita Santos, discovered that Rivero submitted a fake Locational Clearance that she applied for dated July 29, 2019, when it conducted a post-evaluation of her application for a business permit.In addition, there were no records of the fake documents submitted by the suspect when it was checked with the City Planning and Development Office.

Under Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines, “the penalty of prison correccional in its medium and maximum periods and a fine of not more than P5,000 pesos shall be imposed upon any private individual who shall commit any of the falsifications in any public or official document or letter of exchange or any other kind of commercial document.”
