OTTAWA — The federal Liberals say the pending takeover of a Canadian lithium mining company by a Chinese state-owned company raises no national security concerns.

He says it only registered here to get on the Toronto Stock Exchange in a bid to raise money for what he called a"dubious" mine development project in Argentina. Consequently, he says the company's takeover by China's Zijin Mining Group Ltd. is"irrelevant" to Canada's national security.

Why are we allowing rare minerals to fall under the control of foreigners again?

That's what they said when Chinese hackers stole Nortel's IP files. And when Chinese hackers attacked Dept of Finance & Treasury Board stealing classified information before being discovered. Canadian political leaders are unconcerned about Chinese security risks.

Mine isn't actually in Canada. It's in South America.
