ZAMBOANGA CITY — More than 700 business owners trooped to the city government’s Business One Stop Shop at the Centro Latino, Paseo del Mar here on Tuesday, Jan. 3, for the renewal and registration of local businesses.The BOSS was created by the local government to streamline the processing of business permits by putting offices of government agencies involved in the registration of businesses in one venue.
City Licensing Division Chief Benjie Barredo said business owners have until Jan. 20 this year to process their permits. A surcharge of 25 percent and another two percent surcharge per month will be added for those who fail to pay on or before the deadline.Some 14,000 business renewals and applications were received in 2022, the figure represented a thousand more compared to the previous year.
