Downer EDI has found a potential buyer for its local transport projects business, which was put up for sale last year as the services group further diversifies away from construction work.
Downer declined to identify the potential buyer but industry sources said they believed the suitor was an Asian company.Speculation has been swirling in the rail industry over the future of the projects business, which designs and builds light rail and heavy rail tracks as well as signalling systems, bridges and roads.
