A 121-unit workforce housing project in the Cathedral District has received construction permits from the city.
The Vestcor Cos. is the developer for the $39 million project. Records show Summit Contracting Group received two permits Tuesday on behalf of Vestcor subsidiary Lofts at Cathedral Ltd. for $7 million to build 92 units across two buildings at 327 Duval St. "Building A" will be five stories with 27,800 square feet of space and 40 units, the permit said. The five-story"Building B" consists of 52 units with 53,300 square feet.
Another permit was issued to renovate 43,430 square feet of space at an existing building at 325 Duval St. for $5.6 million, which would add 29 units to the project.
