Hobart’s major bus company is under scrutiny from locals following a spate of incidents as new figures reveal more than 2000 services were axed in the space of just one month.
Assaults on drivers have doubled and around 90,000 commuters failed to pay fares in the six months to February, amounting to $200,000. Labor has criticised the government’s introduction of transit officers saying it will do little to improve services.
