For decades, Amazon built its business by creating shopping that was fast, ridiculously easy and, seemingly, error-proof. You don’t like it, just return it. But not anymore: so many customers have buyers’ regret, or simply bigger feet than they thought they had, that handling returns has become an expensive problem for the company.
Amazon is adding the badge to product listings on items with “significantly higher return rates for their product category,” a spokesperson said. Zara, H&M, J.Crew, Anthropologie, Abercrombie & Fitch and other chains are now slapping on fees of up to $7 to return items online; some retailers have tightened their return windows. Customers sent back around 17% of the total merchandise they purchased in 2022, totaling $816 billion, according to data from the National Retail Federation.
They wanted to try this nonsense w me today. Delivered a pic torn and bent and taking about giving only some back. Boi bye!!!
Amazon should.know the products being sent out and the seller should be honest with there products... ihave order so many times and the product isn't what the seller said it was... so now ill have to be responsible for a return because the seller was not honest
amazon do better then 🤷🏾♂️
I recently tried to return an item through amazon, it was such a hassle! The online q&a was ridiculous! Amazon, don’t get too big for your britches…there ARE other options for consumers. Just because your on top now doesn’t mean you’ll stay there. Good customer service is key.
amazon I am already driving 50miles (in &back) to return damaged, poorly described, manufactured items. So on top of my gas and time I will have to pay an additional fee?
I don’t like it, but I understand why.
I recently ordered some CR123A lithium batteries from Amazon, but partway through the shipment I received a noticed stating that something went wrong and my shipment will arrive later. It never arrived, but Amazon thanked me for returning my item. 🙄
By the way Amazon, you insisted this box of badly packed broken glass needed to be returned when a photo was really all you should have needed for a refund

Amazon is now have so many Chinese sellers who sells us crappy products and not as described. I stop using prime cuz it’s not worth it. Amazon TV is not worth watching. I like brick and mortar stores better cuz you can see the products and return if it’s not what you think.
Then make sure they’re not misleading consumers. Literally a buyer was trying to sway me to give them a better rating because the item I recent purchased was faulty. They can KMA.
When you order a laptop battery and get 4 boxes of Swedish pancake mix, there is a problem.
What Amazon you are not amazing
Just show us the items with high returns
My wife says that they should be doing better advertising because some of the stuff that looks like it’s good to buy. Turns out to be complete junk. So if you’re going to charge to return things, better have all of your ducks in a row first.
Meanwhile…..
Returned $1k chair because it was poorly constructed. amazon sent a 3rd party company to pick up then said they never received it but tracking says returned. This was last summer. Still don’t have a refund. I was def robbed by Amazon!
amazon you already take a percentage when we have to return an item, because if we can’t take it to UPS, and we need it picked up. Depending on the item, you take 5%-10% back. Now you want to charge a fee with UPS? That isn’t a good idea! I would reconsider Amazon!?
I thought that was the point of paying for the membership in part. If I have to pay for returns I'll be looking for a new service.
I just love how all these companies are charging more for less. I mean the steamers charge more for less content. Amazon delivery has gone down the toilet and they want to charge you if you send it back what a joke.
Stop selling crap that has to be returned! No more Amazon for me.
Charging more then half of what the product sold for. It's a rip off and I hope Amazon realizes what a mistake this is. Over $5.00 for an envelope and then $$ to print label.
More Amazon frown. I've stopped shopping with Amazon, and with all these extra fees and no more Amazon Smile, I think more people will abandon Amazon. Bezos needs to step in before it's too late.
Walmart+ has been really good, fedex brings most of the packages the rest are by a Walmart driver. Returns can be done curbside at the store, by fedex pickup from home or in the physical store.
Actually, how many of those returns are because UPS delivered it to the wrong address?
You can't return shit that doesn't get to you in the first place Jeff.
Fuck that.
Sell crap and get mad when we find out
I ordered something and can not return it , first time ever . No more hbc items for me .
