The U.S. Department of Labor has obtained a judgment for $910,000 for back wages and damages on behalf of 289 warehouse workers who were denied overtime while working for a staffing agency in Bergen County, authorities said Monday. Advantix Logistics Corp., of Lyndhurst, was held liable for violations of federal wage laws for paying warehouse employees hourly and piece rates, but not an overtime premium for hours worked over 40 in a week, according to the federal Labor Department.

The workers had been loading and unloading freight from containers and pallets for more than 70 hours a week at warehouses, the Labor Department said in a statement. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
