Malaysian company Farm Fresh Berhad will make $20 million worth of investments in the Philippines for cattle breeding and milk production.

KUALA LUMPUR -

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday had a meeting with the firm's officials wherein he welcomed the idea of large-scale cattle raising in the Philippines to enhance milk production. “In the Philippines, when you talk about the livestock, we talk about [hog] and chicken, we don’t talk about cattle. Maybe it’s time to introduce it to the market,” Marcos told Farm Fresh executives.The firm is presently looking for a viable area with a land requirement of 200 to 400 hectares of farmland to lease in order to raise 2,000 milking cows.Farm Fresh is eyeing to commence its operations by 2028 with an estimated employment of 200 local workers.

He also had meetings with businessmen from various sectors on Thursday morning, including agriculture, transportation, and technology.
