As Dr Nandipha Magudumana and her rapist killer boyfriend Thabo Bester prepared to flee South Africa, their property company dodged reimbursing a doctor over R3 million for a home they failed to build – and now the judge hearing that case has alerted law enforcement.

Court papers in that saga have also revealed how Magudumana and a “Katlego Nkwana” - an alias previously used by Bester - had signed a R5-million contract for the completion of that house in January 2022, less than five months before Bester escaped. Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg Acting Judge Zubair Khan asked that Dr Lloyd Maduwane’s application against Magudumana’s Arum Holdings Limited property company be served on her, National Director of Public Prosecutions Shamila Batohi, the Financial Intelligence Centre and the State Attorney before the case was heard again on Tuesday.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
