The DMO has announced the listing of the federal government’s N130 billion sovereign sukuk on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) and the FMDQ Securities Exchange on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

The Debt Management Office has announced the listing of the federal government’s N130 billion sovereign Sukuk on the Nigerian Exchange Group and the FMDQ Securities Exchange on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

The agency, however, said the Sukuk garnered immense interest from investors with a remarkable subscription level of N165.25 billion, which represents over 165 percent of the amount offered. “The listing of the N130 Billion Sovereign Sukuk on the NGX and FMDQ Securities Exchange will expand the range of financial offerings available to investors in the capital market,” DMO said.

He emphasised the significance of the sovereign sukuk issuance and subsequent listing on NGX to the Nigerian capital market, describing it as a “positive move”.
