X/Twitter owner Elon Musk says his social media company plans to start charging a small monthly payment to use the platform. The ASX opens lower and US stocks end little changed ahead of the US Federal Reserve's meeting this week. During the roundtable, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, also urged Mr Musk to strike a balance between free speech and fighting hate speech on X."I hope you find within the confines of the First Amendment, the ability to not only stop anti-Semitism ... but any collective hatred of a people," Mr Netanyahu said.

Researchers have found an increase in hate speech and anti-Semitic content on the platform since Mr Musk took over.
