Electric Ireland announced last week that it was withdrawing from the Northern Ireland domestic electricity market to concentrate on business customers. .

“Electric Ireland will continue to supply and support our residential customers during this transition.“This will involve working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including the Utility Regulator, and with our residential customers to ensure a managed approach. A spokesperson said: "The Consumer Council has had engagement with Electric Ireland and the Utility Regulator regarding the company’s decision to exit the domestic electricity market in Northern Ireland.
