The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in 2023, Peter Obi will only work in a merger that makes Nigeria work and not just one interested in seeking power.

the Chief Spokesperson of Obi-Datti and Director of the Media, Labour Party , Yunusa Tanko stated this in an interview on Channels Television on Monday.

Speaking on the proposed merger Tanko said his Obi is interested in seeing Nigeria work and thus will only partner with those who have similar values. "Making sure Nigerians have potable drinking water; making sure the problem of power supply is being solved. The meeting with the former vice president triggered speculation of a merger between the two former presidential candidates.
