PUTRAJAYA: Eight individuals, including brokers, bank officers and a company director, have been remanded for alleged bribery involving close to RM2mil from a syndicate selling Felda-owned land in Melaka.
In Kota Kinabalu, Magistrate Wan Farrah Afriza Wan Ghazali allowed the suspects, two women and a man, to be remanded for six days until Sunday . Sources said the bribe was to “reward” the officers for helping them to open bank accounts, supposedly registered under Felda. “The action by the bank officers to with the syndicate caused 260ha of Felda land worth RM400mil in Bukit Katil, Melaka to be sold last year,” said a source.
