Wings is accused of plotting to kill his former business partner who had him arrested for fraud in April.
City Press has seen a R100 000 bank notification referenced “gift”, which was sent by Wings to Cabonge.However, in a turn of events, Cabonge told City Press that he was shocked after receiving the money when Wings revealed that the money was actually for Cabonge to get a hitman that would kill his former business partner.He called me and said he wanted to kill . I said ‘for what? To kill doesn’t resolve ; just open a case against the guy.’ I sat down with him, and we talked.
In a police statement, which City Press has seen, Cabonge said he lied to Wings and said his guys were monitoring the business partner. He further said he gave Wings false dates of when the mission would be accomplished, and, when the dates finally came, he would come up with excuses.He said, at the time, he did not know the business partner, but he made means to find him and warn him about Wings’ plan.
“This case was opened on 25 July to set me up. As his way to prove that he did send Cabonge money to pay the police, Wings shared WhatsApp screenshots with City Press, claiming they were conversations between him and Cabonge, using the latter’s different phone number.
