HANOI: The death toll in the aftermath of a typhoon in Vietnam climbed to 233 on Friday (Sept 13) as rescue workers recovered more bodies from areas hit by landslides and flash floods, state media reported.

KUALA LUMPUR: Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said today that Malaysia expects no major change in the chip industry post-United States presidential election on Nov 5, 2024.

Trump was elected as the 45th President on Nov 8, 2016, after the billionaire defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton.On the US decision to step up curbs on Chinese chip makers, the Minister said Malaysia has not been affected thus far and Putrajaya will continue to engage with both China and Washington. "Malaysia has been a net beneficiary and has been in this industry for more than 50 years. We have built a strong ecosystem around the semiconductor industry, which has been a major part of our exports.
