The father of the 10-year-old girl who died on Saturday night after complaining about chest and stomach pains has called on the government to conduct thorough inspections of spaza shops.
Her mother and her four-year-old sibling child who also consumed the snacks are in a critical condition at Edenvale Hospital on Gauteng’s East Rand.“Yesterday when I got home, I found my daughter eating snacks. She asked her mother to smell, the mother confirmed that they do not smell nice. I then told her to throw them away. However, she had already consumed them. She went to the toilet and came back complaining about chest pains. I held her up when she nearly fell.
