A local vendor at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Public Market in Selangor, Mr Yap, was allegedly displaced by local authorities after reporting concerns about the market's cleanliness. He highlighted the problem of non-Halal waste affecting Muslim customers and requested a move to a Halal area. However, instead of addressing his concerns, the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) allegedly offered him a temporary table and later chased him away.

The situation has garnered public attention and criticism, prompting the president of NGO Nambikkai Malaysia, Dato’ Dr Kalaivanar, to intervene, criticizing local authorities and elected representatives for mishandling the issue
