The former president of a Chambersburg business is facing charges after he allegedly stole over $1.6 million from the company over the course of 15 years.

Robert Jacobs, 62, was the president and corporate secretary and of the Frank B. Lesher Company, an electrician located on Edgar Avenue, according to charging documents.

The employee noticed that a check had been written to Jacobs personally from the business checking account, which prompted him to investigate further. He began to uncover more evidence of Jacobs using company cards to buy personal items. From 2009 to 2023, Jacobs used $1,666,738.50 in company funds for personal purchases, including insurance payments, vacation time, sick time and bonuses, according to an affidavit.
