An association representing the beauty, spa and wellness industry is working with Enterprise SG on a standard set of guidelines, hopefully by 2027. For massage providers, it is recommending a minimum of 300 training hours for therapists.

Another suggestion is classifying providers by their roles - ranging from those who provide simple relaxation services to experienced ones who understand the human body. Two people died in Thailand recently after massage sessions, including a Singaporean tourist. Charlotte Lim with more.
