THE city government of Isabela in Basilan province has inaugurated on Saturday, December 21, 2024, the P12.9 million two-story Halal Meat and Dried Seafood Section of the city’s public market.Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, who led the inauguration, said the facility symbolizes the relentless efforts of the local government to modernize the market facilities and support local economic development.
The facility features 24 tables, with 12 tables per floor, strategically designed to accommodate vendors and provide ample space for the display and sale of halal meat and dried seafood, according to Hataman.She said the initiative not only addresses the growing demand for halal-certified goods but also supports the livelihood of local vendors and promotes adherence to cultural and religious practices.
