Farmers in the Mkhondo region in Piet Retief Mpumalanga have suffered severe financial loss after Friday’s storm which was confirmed a tornado by the South African Weather Service .He says some of the residents in the area were injured and admitted to hospital. “Two hundred hectors of pine plantation, about two hundred hectors of the forest was damaged by the tornado and the estimated damage is about R25 million. Also on the neighbour’s farm, there were eight household that were completely demolished and few people were injured and some of the people were even hospitalised,” explains Paul.Watch:03/01/2020 13h00 TO:03/01/2020 23h00 Severe Thunderstorms- are expected in places over the Highveld and along the escarpment of Mpumalanga today.
