Fk off & go by boat if u have the time.

I think it's herd immunity time for the airline industry as well. Shape up or ship out.

Well if you wanna ask the public for bail out that be £50 million. If you want a response please email and a public figure will get back to you in 14-28 working days. Oh it’s important then why didn’t you say we have business and first class responses 180 million and 400 million.

I think the government has rather more important things on it’s hands at the moment. 🧐

These airlines have SO much money but want the government to pay their employees. It’s disgusting

Why buy insurance when government can bail you out with money stolen from tax victims? Maybe we should all cancel that car insurance.

Don't think anyone will miss EasyJet now it's paid its shareholders £174 million (and one person £60 million) as reported in The Times newspaper

96% of US airlines free cash flow went to stock buybacks

The planes are leased anyway. Other companies can take over and not squander profits on by-backs and bonuses.

I love the Twitter economists & business analysts that have elected themselves to push a verdict to just “let them fail”. Who’ll be paying the wages of thousands of workforces who have worked in the industry for years? You silly muppets

🤝

Capitalism is a bitch. Bye.

Oh. Shame.

No handouts for wealthy owners: richardbranson and et al can afford to support employees out of their own pocket. A good time to redistribute wealth back to where it belongs.

Good. They've been destroying the planet for too long just cause folk want a holiday.

Hmm maybe it’s finally time to invest in more sustainable infrastructure? And stop asking for a hand out when they’ve had millions in profit

Let it run out, why bail out big business which has no firm footing.

Privates are told to save up for a financial emergency. Only those in dire need get a hand-out. EasyJet made a profit of 466Mio.GBP in 2016 and RuanAir 880GBP in 2019 so... invest that money in your personnel and other assets AND STOP TELLING US YOU ARE SOOOO POOR!!!!

Willie Walsh at IAG was lucky to retire when he did.

Darwinian times ahead. All the assets will remain. The corporate entities will be reborn and the ones with the best business models will emerge. As long as Govts are supporting the ex employees, this may be a major shakedown

Tell Stellios and Branson they can bail themselves out!

Let them go bust. The finance companies who own the planes will lease them to new operators who will also employ the crews

Not just the airline industry but also thousands of patients battling with severe COVID19 respiratory infection and even, dare I say it, the planet 🌍 ClimateEmergency.

Bail out people and the hospitals first!

I agree time is running out for airlines to keep emitting carbon, while we're seeing ever increasing climate change. Please let them fail, it's the only right thing to do for our planet.

No sympathy for airlines paying out millions in dividends to shareholders while at the same time asking for a tax payer handout. The Govt could quickly change the law to block all dividend payments by all companies not just airlines.

Before asking for money, they should (together with authorities and maintaining security) to make the experience of flying less exhausting, invasive and unpleasing! 🤔

Won't somebody think of the airlines?

Maybe they can make ventilators, then we can talk

No warning needed or wanted. The airlines are on their own. They should not get money from the government. They have been nasty and greedy for decades. Now it is time for them to bleed. Little space between seats Pay for suitcase Now, you bleed !!

Nationalise them

£150 to change a name on a ticket and update API - takes two minutes. My heart bleeds for the airline industry.

But we hate socialism

Let them go. New ones can start again later. EJ and RA have no good will to save.

Yeah, for people too. Oh wait, those are only walking wallets, I forgot.

airlines have to abide by international law first article of air law

perhaps they should have managed their money better, put some aside for a rainy day you know ?

'Free lunch is running out', : government should warn airline industry. Free market means failing businesses go and are replaced by better businesses.

Perhaps the airline industry should have saved for a rainy day instead of stock buybacks.

LET them fall, Those bastards spend all the bailout money buying back stocks and paid millions for their stupid CEOs, let them fall and other will take over.

Nationalise the lot.

The Guardian should close down permanently to fight corinavirus and the spreading of Fake News

Fuck ‘em. No more global warming.

as much as 5%?

fuck the airline industry. too many stock buybacks not enough saving for a rainy day.

Yes it is

How will all the Brexit voters get to Benidorm to complain about foreign invasion!?!

The feds needs to bail out hospitals first before airlines! Priority first
