As countries closed their doors to the outside world, some jokingly posted online that the COVID-19 gave us a gift - the gift of time.
Some schools now use the internet not just a source of information, but as their “virtual classrooms” as well. When classes were suspended in March, many students were required to still continue doing their projects. Going to an internet café was not possible because these are closed. The government thus needs to provide internet access to everyone particularly those living in remote areas. Offices were also closed as the enhanced community quarantine was implemented. Work from home was suggested to check the spread of the virus.
Children and adults alike may feel bored at home if there was nothing else to do. With smart TVs very popular these days, just switching it from Netflix to YouTube would occupy most of your time.
