The 96 traders can continue operating along Persiaran SL 1 until a new market building is built by the Kajang Municipal Council in about two years.
"After a meeting between Kajang assemblyman Hee Loy Sian and MPKj president Datuk Zulkefli Khalid yesterday, and taking into consideration other factors, it was decided that the traders do not have to relocate to the Laman Niaga Komuniti Bandar Sungai Long in Jalan SL 2/3. Bandar Sungai Long Petty Traders Association chairman Fanny Lim said that the decision was a huge relief.
Previously, traders had expressed dissatisfaction that they had to sign a letter of undertaking with MPKj to relocate to the Laman Niaga come March 2 when their temporary permits expire.
