Scores of disgruntled residents have called on Police Minister to intervene and reduce crime in the community.Cele says members from the Tactical Response Team as well as Public Order Policing will be deployed from Wednesday night. “We are going Increase Public Order Policing who will come and work here and not move until we come and feel that all is well now. Your new national police commissioner will bring 10 more vehicles because you have been complaining that there are no vehicles in your area.”Residents say they believe the high number of undocumented foreign nationals in the area is to blame for the increase in crime.
Shezi says, “We need people who are from different African countries to have documents when they come to South Africa. So we do not have a problem with those who have documents. So for police to trace those who do not have documents is difficult really. So that is what’s the problem is.” “There were seven people which were killed in Extension One and 14 were seriously injured. So that is what angered the community of Diepsloot because this thing has been going on for a very long time. And it has been reported to the police but they do not have sufficient personnel and police vehicles are also not enough,” Shezi explains.
Why is the Minister running up and down, instead of the Police Commissioner? He is suppose to plan and get reports then repprt to the President. He has been doing this thing for decades and crime has never stopped! Let him sit down and allow a police commissioner do this.
