ICYMI: As the world marks World Food Day the Free State Province embarks on a drive to improve food security. The Province says the effects of COVID-19 on food security remains dire as more people have lost jobs.

The Province says the effects of COVID-19 on food security remains dire as more people have lost jobs.Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela and Agriculture MEC; Thembeni Ncangisa visited Boshoff to encourage residents to start food gardens.

In Free State 28% of the population is reported to go hungry daily. The Province has a population of about 3 million. An unemployed father of 4 from Boshoff says social grants are the only guarantee that there is food on the table. The Province says it wants to regain its position as the country’s food basket. Agriculture MEC, Thembeni Ncangisa says his Department is boosting efforts to end hunger through agriculture.

Food gardens brilliant idea to kick poverty but what about water shedding? How do the people water their gardens when there's no single drop of water from the taps?

Because people in government in the Free State they don't care about the people on the ground that's why let's not talk about what Covid19 thing did and so fourth they don't care about poor people on the ground period
