Those results have helped send its shares down by more than 70% this year. On Wednesday, following its cost-cutting announcement, Meta's stock price rose by nearly 6% in early trading. Meta plans to pay laid off U.S. workers 16 weeks of base salary as severance, plus two weeks for every year they worked at the company, it said. Cut workers will also get six months of health-care coverage along with career services and immigration support, if they want, it said.
