Amazon has 1.1 million staff

5 years ago Amazon was the go to company for hiring. How quickly things change.

Prices are out of whack now .....hardly worth shopping at amazon anymore

Canada and neolib clones elsewhere: every day a little closer to 3rd world societies. Thank your Lib and Con governments (and/or the likes elsewhere) of the last 40 years, and your voting...🤮

Isn't most of the 18,000 layoff just seasonal? How many were laid off the first week of last January?

USISC1 Many of us have curtailed buying on Amazon. No same day delivery and now no next day delivery. Plus, products are padded for shipping costs. Bezos is too big. Too many outside vendors and the problems there. Certainly, our membership price will rise cause you know, it’s about 1%.

This is typical for January. Most seasonal staff hired in October-December know they are only there for the Christmas rush. Not to justify. Just telling the way it is.

Stuff like this goes to show you how damaging big corporations can be to the little guy. The strength of North American economies has always been dependent on the success of small businesses. Unfortunately the Walmarts and Amazons of the world are sucking small businesses dry.

So why is this not publicized like the Twitter elonmusk layoffs. Oh right.... Because you wouldn't want to give elonmusk credit for doing what's needed....

Happy New Year. We’re laying you off. Sincerely, Amazon
