"[Successful companies] are being really intentional about what it means to be in the office. If you are asking people to come back a certain number of days a week, is it any of those days of the week? Or are we trying to get everyone back at once?" she said.

"When you take the time to observe and see what’s happening, you don’t necessarily need the employee to speak up because it’s something that you're seeing right then and there, and you can find a way to fix it," she told us last year."I do that with my teams all the time. I observe. We do water cooler talks. We bond, but I also see how they interact with other teams and how they interact with outside vendors and partners.
