Five former employees of a Manitoba trucking company have filed a human rights complaint saying were discriminated against because they were foreign workers.

Three of the workers came to Canada under a closed work permit through Manitoba's provincial nominee program, which meant they could only stay in Canada as long as they were working at Gladstone Transfer.

Enforcement of electronic logging devices for truck drivers travelling between provinces coming Jan. 1 In a prepared statement, Kinley declined to comment on the human rights complaints, but did say "all allegations are denied." They provided housing and helped new workers furnish their homes, register their kids for school and find employment for their spouses, he said.

In an interview with CBC, he said he was dispatched on trips that could not provide the required amount of rest and sleep, resulting in safety issues.

All the people in the jail system, all the people not doing nothing on the streets and we depend on international workers to pick our food. Pathetic. On top of that they get treated like garbage. Once again pathetic.

Ya we ve all seen how some of these people drive on the roads and cause big accidents

Stop hiring foreign workers.

adriana1550 CBC needs to identify the type of Visa held by the litigant.

Did they sign a contract before they began their employment? Did they read the details of the contract ? It would be interesting to see the details.

Temporary foreign workers are here to do the jobs we don't want to. In trucking you start out with crap trucking Jobs. Then you work your way up to the jobs these guys are talking about. Those jobs don't need temporary foreign workers. They pay well and are sought after

That is literally what the job is. I've been in the trucking industry for over three decades. If you don't like it then you have to either stay with that company for a decade or so or find a trucking job in a different industry.
