The exciting wrap to four years studying for a business or commerce degree at Algoma University is always the high-pressure Northern Ontario Business Case Competition.Students are given an unknown business case, overhead transparencies, markers, calculators and that's it.
With no access to electronics or the internet, they are isolated in a room for three hours where they must prepare a thorough solution to the business problem which is then presented to a panel of judges composed of local and regional business professionals. After the presentations, the judges evaluate the teams’ solutions and are free to challenge the students with questions or concerns. A dinner will follow with all competition participants and guests from the business community. Afterwards, celebrity judges will participate in a panel discussion with dinner attendants.
To conclude the evening, an awards ceremony will be held, where the winning teams will be announced.PARTICIPANTS: 10 Teams from Algoma University’s Sault Ste.
