VC deals fall from $401m to $172.8m from the first quarter of 2022 to the same period this year

Venture capital investment in Ireland plummeted in the first three months of 2023, declining 57 per cent versus the same period a year earlier, new figures show.

According to the data, 24 VC deals closed in the first quarter that were worth a combined $172.8 million . While the number of transactions remained on a par with the first three months of 2022, deal value fell by over half, from $401 million.
